An Arizona resort hotel renovation by AXIS/GFA
AXIS/GFA was commissioned by KHP Capital Partners to reposition the existing Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa into an updated and modernized destination. Coordinating with Beleco with their interior design expertise, and with CJM::LA for their landscape architecture expertise, the scope of the renovation included an updated lobby, a refreshed and reconceptualized restaurant, a modernization of the hotel’s 105 guestrooms, an update to the resort’s spa, and a reconfiguration of the hotel’s outdoor spaces for optimized spa offerings and al fresco events.
Key to the renovation program was repositioning the hotel as a base for adventure tourism in Sedona’s surrounding Thunder Mountains – the iconic and uniquely colorful banded red rock formations that define Yavapai County and which organically influenced the selection of materials and colors for the hotel’s renovation.
