A California Wine Country hotel and resort renovation by San Francisco architect AXIS/GFA.

AXIS/GFA is proud to announce that our latest California Wine Country hotel renovation project – the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel and Spa – has officially reopened. The project is the latest of a rich portfolio of hotel design and hotel renovation projects our firm has completed in California’s fabled Wine Country.

Commissioned with the redesign and remodeling of the hotel’s lobby, restaurant, and public restrooms, as well as a reconceptualization of the property’s porte cochère, AXIS/GFA’s San Francisco studio contributed to the architectural design of the updated reception area and the newly designed food and beverage spaces.

By way of interior design expertise provided by industry partners Beleco, the interior spaces are modernized through a muted organic color palette that emphasizes hues that commonly punctuate the wine country environment; loamy green wood accent walls create anchor points for each space, while wine-hued reds create pops of contrast on feature rugs and furniture upholstery. Wine barrel oak-colored furniture finished in leather complete the lobby spaces.

On the exterior, the porte cochère was modernized by way of new full-height stone cladding on the structure’s columns to create a more elegant and upscale entrance experience. New cladding in an updated contrasting color palette on the structure’s horizontal beams and headers help scale-down the oversized mass of the existing structure.
